Many patients seeking psychiatric medication fear they'll be rushed through a 15-minute appointment and handed a prescription without being heard. I provide a different experience. My practice offers comprehensive general psychiatric evaluations and medication management for the full spectrum of adult psychiatric conditions. I also have particular expertise in treating complex trauma and PTSD, and in supporting people who struggle with intense emotions and unstable relationships using a DBT-informed framework.
Before becoming a psychiatrist, I was a professor of literature, earning my PhD from Johns Hopkins University. Today, my clinical work is deeply shaped by that background, especially through an appreciation of how memory and narrative form who we are. In my practice, I blend rigorous, evidence-based psychopharmacology with warm, collaborative conversations. My goal is to ensure you feel fully understood and actively engaged in your own treatment plan.
